pom pom garlands!

<<< psst! you can see a full list of my diy projects here! >>>

time : minutes
difficulty : ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆
would i do it again? : yes!

i made these fun pom pom garlands for K's room this morning.

it was a quick and easy craft project -- my favorite kind! -- and it cost me approximately ZERO dollars since i already had the few supplies required.

i simply threaded the twine through the needle, then started stringing poms -- it couldn't be much easier! i made sure to pierce the middle meaty part of the pom so that it was secure on the string. i found a silicone pot holder useful to get a grip on the needle when pulling it through the pom.
you don't need to glue the poms or tie any knots to keep them in place if you use a thicker string like twine.

K helped by throwing the poms everywhere, then loading them into his dump truck and bringing them back to me.
thanks, buddy. :)

after making the garlands, we headed up to his room to hang them.
no matter where you display it, an obvious word of caution:
hang it WELL out of your child's reach.

i was able to use hooks already on the window frame.

i installed small eye screws in the ceiling to hold up the other ends.
this was actually harder than i anticipated because we have plaster walls.

the garlands are a playful addition to K's room...
 a little something that says:

have you made pom pom garlands before?
do you plan to?

will you be hanging them in your child's room...or are they for you?

  3. Found you via pinterest...question: what needle did you use for the thickness of twine?

  4. Gonna try them out for our wedding, decorating an outdoor space and thought they would add some color and fun!
